A New Week and Needing New Ideas
Share
Have I ever mentioned I LOVE living in a vacation destination? If not, I really do. It was such a great weekend of shopping for the bathroom we are remodeling, making myself a dress, and taking our greyhound, Cleo, out to Hilton Head to play on the beach. Needless to say, we all got home last night and just collapsed. Especially the poor baby Cleo. She had so much fun running around in the water. I never knew greyhounds would love water so much, or maybe it’s just Cleo. She is rather special.
Typically, the weekend helps to give me a reset. Let’s me get a new perspective. Unfortunately, even though the weekend was good, this morning I woke up to the reality of where I am at in regards to the store. Last week was just a horrible week and I really, truly do not want to repeat it. It is incredibly draining on your psyche and self-esteem. Now, I will have to work on new ideas that may help me move forward, not stagnate or go backwards.
Maybe it’s time I expand my reach with this blog. I know there are other business owners out there that struggle and it’s important to know we are not alone. Maybe it’s time to start offering simple sewing repairs. It would possibly bring people through the doors. I can help them out with fixing a garment and, with any luck, help them out with their health. Just more ideas.
I think that is the hard part of starting a new business. You have to keep coming up with new ideas and it gets difficult to have brain storming sessions with yourself. I’ve said it before, and will say again, the conversations I have with myself are quite riveting. However, me, myself, and I, struggle to brain storm as a collective. Just one of those times when having another physical person present would be helpful. Details….
So, this is what we have going on, so far, on a daily basis; herbal a-z videos, posting the blog on various social media sites, creating informative and/or new product posts, putting clothes outside the store to maybe attract attention (there’s already other items outside to make us stand out), a CSA that delivers weekly, and a book club that meets monthly. This is just what I’m doing currently. I’ve tried many other things, but, so far, none have taken off.
(Big exhale here) Yeah, I think I will expand the reach of the blog and offer sewing repairs. Me, myself, and I are brain stuck at the moment, so, if you have any thoughts, leave them in the comments.
It is now time to put more product on the shelves and start creating content for tomorrow. It’s a never ending cycle, but one I hope to continue for a long time.
Until next time,
Have a Healthy Day!!
