A 'Restful' Weekend

Susan Cwik

It’s a good thing I 'rested' up over the weekend. Did some food prep, made cookies, bread, and had my mother over for dinner. We started planning out my husband’s next remodel project, which will be our bathroom. Silly us, we will be travelling back north to go to Menards (if you know, you know) to get the rest of the items for said remodel.

We started planning out my husband’s next remodel project which will be our bathroom. Silly us, we will be travelling back north to go to Menards (if you know, you know) to get the rest of the items for said remodel. Then, because I was still resting, one night we went out to the beach for a sunset and a walk. The next night we went to the riverfront for a sunset and a walk. I was resting!

Walked in to today with quite the list of things to get done and most have gotten done, yay me! Some are just for the week so there’s time for all those other little things. There were actual customers that walked through the door today. I even had this woman walk in with her dog. She poked her head in one day but I think was hesitant to come in with her dog. I had then seen her walk by a few more times but she never came in, frustrating. After one day of her walking by, I put up a sign that says “Pets Welcomed.” She didn’t come in right away, but last Saturday she waved at me from outside and today she finally walked in with her dog Sadie. Sadie is a very cute and well behaved puppy. We had a very nice chat and she will be back. Yay!

Later in the day I received an email from the airbrush lady, Casey, from down the strip mall. She wanted to know if I would be interested in partnering with her on something I guess her customers are looking for. I guess people buy Dickies shirts and remake them for babies and children and sell them on Etsy for lots of money. Who knew? I saw them for the first time today on Etsy. She has people who order them and bring them in for her to create designs on them with an airbrush. I guess people spend lots of money on stuff like this for birthdays and what not. Once again, who knew? Anyway, she wants me to start making them for her as people would get them quicker and, not to toot my own horn but I’ll do it anyway, they will be of a better quality. I could make quite a bit off of these based on what I was seeing on Etsy and they don’t look hard to make, says the person who has made multiple ball gowns. Seems like a simple enough project for a nice payoff.

Needless to say, today has been kind of busy and very interesting. It’ll be interesting where this takes me. I am very excited to go get some shirts from Goodwill outlet to start playing with. These can then be the designs my friend can show her customers. If this takes off, my husband better get his projects done because I’ll need him to run the store while I sew away. I guess we’ll see.

That’s all I have for today. I’m tired but need to go home to get some other projects done so I can start this new one.

Until next time,
