Being Unapologetically YOU
Share
It’s coming to the end of the day and I don’t remember what I was going to talk about today. I knew this morning. I guess that’s what I get for not writing it down earlier. Now we don’t know what will come spewing out of my head. It definitely won’t be some well-crafted thought.
It’s been a decent day. A couple of customers, a new sewing repair, and got some cleaning done. A productive day. I will continue to clean tomorrow but I still have to remember what I was going to write and get ready for book club tonight.
Switching thoughts now…..
“Never change to be accepted by others. Stay weird.”
I just ran across this on social media and it really spoke to me. I was never a part of the “In” crowd, didn’t belong to a clique or sorority, I was pretty much a loner. I was always just me. Unapologetically ME. My ‘team’ thing during school was theatre and if you know theatre kids, we are all weird and just don’t care. I mean, you have to be a little weird to get up in front of a bunch of people to play dress up and recite words. Just sayin’.
I think, in the long run, this has been a benefit to me. I am a free thinker, don’t follow trends, and wanna know for myself why I should do something, take something, wear something. I create my own trends based on me. This means that I don’t necessarily fit in with a bunch of people, including my family, but that too is ok. I’m the black sheep of the family because I just think differently than everyone else. As I said, it’s all ok.
This spills out in to the store. I think differently. I look for emerging products, keep some tried and true, but overall, the science must back it up. This is a different take than some people. You won’t find weight loss products in my store (secret-they don’t work) or questionable workout products. I run a ‘clean’ store. Each and every product is vetted and/or tried out to make sure we provide the best products we can. If you see something on social media and there’s all this hype around it, I may or may not have it in the store. Sometimes the tried and true get new hype and other times, whatever it is, is questionable.
In essence, I follow the beat of my own drums and I highly recommend it. Don’t let others stifle your weirdness. Don’t let them dim your light. You should be unapologetically YOU! Just be who you want to be and respect others for just being them.
Until next time,
Have a Healthy Day
