Quiet Days are Long Days

The video experience of yesterday was very interesting. I really didn’t know what to expect or how to prepare. Unfortunately, they wanted me to just start talking off the cuff about myself, the store, my mission statement, etc. Don’t they know that when you’re dealing with introverts, we need to prepare this in advance? We don’t talk off the cuff. We stumble, talk too much, and have no clue what we are doing. It has nothing to do with being nervous; we just do not react on the spot like that. I was never good at improv and that has not changed. I muddled through and quickly came up with bullet points in my head that, hopefully, sound coherent. The rest was pretty easy as I didn’t have to do much more, which was perfect. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. I will share once I have the final product.
As for today, it’s been stupid quiet. I’ve had two people come in but neither bought anything. The first person was someone who comes in every week to pick up produce and never buys anything. Even with taking the time to be nice and putting an insert in his bag on all the reasons he should shop here, he just doesn’t. I'm gonna have to keep working on cracking that nut.
My second person was far more exciting. It was the airbrush lady! We are getting very close to blasting the news about our Dickies partnership and someone called her today looking to see if she would make the outfit, and then airbrush it. We haven’t even announced it and we have our first sale! It’s so exciting! This means I have to finish my last prototype tonight and make a comprehensive sizing chart. After that, it’s time to make the patterns for all of the different sizes. It’s all a process but once I get the patterns made, it should be easy to just pull it out and make the outfits. Ah, the life of a seamstress.
Otherwise, I’ve got nothing today. Just stupid quiet and hoping tomorrow is a better day ‘cause things have been going so well up until today. Just a little bit longer today and I can work on my other project. Hope you’re having a great one!
Until next time,
Have a Healthy Day
