Rain, Rain, Go Away

Susan Cwik

I’m just really in a not so great mood today. It’s just pouring out, again. We are in the middle of tropical storm Debby and there has been a lot of rain. It’s interesting because the clouds can affect your mood, along with the rain, but it’s not a torrential rain. I would understand people staying home in a torrential rain or if there are a lot of storms. Just rain, I don’t get it. The strip mall is dead, dead, dead, dead, dead and about half of the businesses are closed. We never had that kind of reaction in Wisconsin during a snow storm so it’s really a foreign concept to me to close for some rain. If we had snow, make sure you are dressed for it, clear your car, get over the fact that the roads aren’t plowed, and get on with your day. It would take a really bad blizzard to close things down. Needless to say, it’s put me in a foul mood.

It’s really hard to get yourself motivated when you’re in a bad mood. I still need to do an A-Z Herbal video, I just can’t get motivated to do it. I also have some new projects to work on but even those don’t thrill me. Instead, I just sit here looking at the rain and wish people would come in.

Later in the day…..

A couple of other things have now been done and it is still raining. We might need a boat at this rate. It’s not storming, just raining. It’s not even a deluge, just rain. Lots and lots of rain. In fact, when I leave tonight my feet will get wet as there is a puddle all around my car. It will be unavoidable. I was outside for a bit watching people try and get in to the pizza place next door. One person hopped through the puddles like a deer. They were cute. Another thought they could run through the puddles and not get wet. Instead, they got drenched. I should add that the puddles are more like smooth potholes with water. There is also a nice sheet of water coming off the roof in front of the sidewalk. All in all, it’s been an interesting day.

I think I will leave early today as staying is not going to bring people in and I have work to do at home that really needs to be done. Also, the radar is showing the rain will get worse after 5:00 PM. So, I will just pack up my stuff, put up my umbrella, and waddle out to my car like a duck. Ducks don’t care if they get wet.

Until Next Time,

            Have a Healthy Day
