Saturday Story Time!!

Susan Cwik

Well, this dismal week is about over. I kept busy yesterday creating new signage and doing social media, as well as, working on my therapy blog. I tell ya, I start to get down, begin writing things, and I start to feel a little better about where I’m at. It is truly cathartic to put my thoughts and feelings down on paper. Thank you so much for reading and being my armchair therapist. So far, you’ve been very quiet and non-judgmental. I appreciate the non-judgmental part, but if you want to join in on the conversation, feel free to comment.

Today is Saturday, thus, it is also story time. Not customer related, but still a funny story.

Once upon a time, in the far off land of Wisconsin, a family had a small garden and grew many different things. One of these was the medicinal plant, chamomile. It was quite a lovely addition to their garden, and their young daughter was thrilled that her parents would let her pluck the flowers once they had bloomed. Little did the young girl know that her parents were thrilled to not have to do this task, yet get the benefit of these flowers.

By the way, if you haven’t seen my videos on the benefit of chamomile, what are you waiting for? Go here, https://www.facebook.com/reel/452382194247313 or here  https://www.tiktok.com/@susancwikcn/video/7362237360479800607?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=718786566957595191  check it out.

Back to the story; this family enjoyed the bounty of chamomile flowers that they received from their garden. They would brew these flowers and it would make a lovely, light tonic to help aid their sleep. One day, the lord of this abode, mentioned to a fellow worker that they grow chamomile and enjoyed its soothing tonic. This fellow worker was in awe as they, too, had chamomile in their garden. They were very excited to brew their own tonic.

The next day, the lord once again saw their fellow worker and the worker handed the lord a bag of dried leaves. He looked at the leaves wondering why someone would give him a bag of dried leaves  and asked, “What is this?” She responded, “That is the chamomile. I brought it for you as you said you liked it. I tried it and thought it was awful!” The man started laughing and the woman had a look of confusion on her face. The man stated, “You do not brew the leaves, but the flowers.” The woman was stunned at first and then joined the man in laughter at her mistake.

The woman went home and, eventually, did brew her own chamomile tonic from the flowers of the plant and everyone lived, and slept, happily ever after.

The moral of the story is that it’s always good to know what to do with the herbs you are consuming. Ask questions and make sure you’re getting the best product/herb possible.

Have a GREAT weekend!

Until next time,

                Have a Healthy Day!!
