Vacations Are Necessary

It’s a new day and I’m soon headed off to visit with family and refresh why I stay in this industry. You will have to do without my musings for a couple of days. WHAT? There will be no silly or pathetic musings. Nothing to tell you how my day has been going. What will you do? Hopefully, you’ll find better things to do.

I was feeling energized this morning. I got caught up on speeches from last night’s DNC. I really like the Obamas and both of their speeches were just the pep talk I needed today. They talked about having integrity, working hard, and thinking big. The easiest of those three things for me is the integrity. That’s a no brainer. Honest with strong moral principles, yep, that’s me. Despite the woman who dropped off her shirt for hemming being a real piece of work, for her church shirt, I told her I would try and get it done by today, and I did. She was so impressed that she actually came back to thank me again. I’m like, who is this person. This was not the same entitled person who dropped off the shirt yesterday. However, I told her it would be done and I do my darndest to treat people with respect, how I would want to be treated.

The other two are a little harder, especially right now. I’ve done lots of work to no avail and am not sure how much more work I want to do to make this successful. It’s really hard to keep getting up when you keep getting knocked down. Hopefully some time away will be helpful. As for the thinking big, my big thoughts are going to be scaled back. That is not to say that my rebrand won’t be big, it’s just going to go in a different direction. That’s the only clue you’re gonna get for right now. Just until the beginning of September, that is all you have to wait to find out what’s coming next.

For now I will get more work done and we’ll talk again next week.
